Online Dog Behaviour Consultations with Nick Jones MA

Professional, Personalised Dog Behaviour Help – Wherever You Are

If you are looking for expert help with your dog’s behaviour but cannot meet in person, my online dog behaviour consultations provide an effective and convenient alternative.

Delivered by telephone or video call (Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, or another platform of your choice), these sessions are practical, tailored, and focused entirely on your dog’s individual needs.

Whether you are based in the UK or overseas, I can help you address your dog’s behaviour concerns from the comfort of your own home.

Why Choose an Online Consultation with Me?

  • 25 years of hands-on experience working with dogs and their owners

  • Master’s Degree in Dog Behaviour from Middlesex University

  • Full member of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association (CFBA)

  • Dog Expert Witness in legal cases across the UK

  • Pet Behaviourist for Petplan, the UK’s largest pet insurance company

I have worked with thousands of dogs across the UK, Europe and further afield such as Dubai, Italy, Spain, France - providing clear, results-focused advice with kindness and professionalism.

How the Process Works

1. Initial Contact
Complete my Contact Nick page with a brief summary of your dog’s history and the behaviour issues you are experiencing.

2. Booking Your Session
I will confirm the consultation fee and offer a range of available dates and times. Payment can be made via PayPal or online banking.

3. Your Consultation
We will spend around an hour discussing your dog’s behaviour. I will listen carefully, ask questions to fully understand the situation, and provide practical, step-by-step advice you can put into action immediately. With 2 sessions as a minimum, either 2 or 3 sessions may be required depending on the complexity of the case.

4. Follow-Up Support
Following the call, I will send you a written behaviour plan tailored to your dog’s needs.

You are welcome to update me on your dog’s progress, and further sessions can be arranged if needed.

Optional Video Recording:
If you would like, I can record our video call and send you a downloadable copy at no extra cost. Many owners find this helpful to revisit the advice given.

Is an Online Consultation Right for You?

Online consultations are ideal for:

  • Dog owners in remote locations, both in the UK and abroad

  • Those with limited time for in-person visits

  • Owners seeking expert guidance at a more affordable rate than a home visit

  • Puppy owners needing early advice

  • Mild to moderate behaviour problems

Common Behaviour Issues I Can Help With Remotely

Puppy Behaviour and Early Training

  • Pre-puppy planning (choosing the right breed, selecting a breeder, preparing your home)

  • Toilet training

  • Crate training

  • Basic obedience (sit, stay, recall and more)

  • Puppy biting and chewing

  • Jumping up

  • Socialisation advice

  • Lead walking for beginners

  • Travel training for puppies

  • Diet and feeding routines

Behaviour Problems in Older Dogs

  • Separation anxiety

  • Nuisance barking

  • Fear of fireworks

  • Mild fear and anxiety issues

  • Destructive behaviour (chewing, digging)

  • Jumping up at visitors or strangers

  • Diet-related behaviour concerns

  • Over-excitement with visitors

  • Car travel problems

  • Toilet training regression

Please note: Online consultations are not suitable for serious aggression issues (dog-to-human or dog-to-dog aggression) or for more complex reactivity cases. In these situations, I will recommend an in-person consultation or alternative support. If you later book a face-to-face behaviour visit, I will deduct the cost of your online consultation from that fee.
